Play The Game
Discover how to play the game below with the detailed instructions.
GAME 1: STROKE PLAY
-
The object of the game is to have the lowest score.
-
Players decide how many “holes” the game will last. Games are typically played until each player has completed 9 or 18 “holes”.
-
A “hole” is complete when the player has achieved a score.
-
Players alternate turns. To speed up play, players can play three “holes” at a time before alternating to the next player.
-
Players start with the ball in the tee area and hit the ball toward the hole. The ball must either fall in the hole or the open area in the back and ultimately settle in a numbered hole or the end tray for a score.
-
If the ball goes in the hole, all numbers become negative and reduce the total score, while balls that fall in the back are positive and increase the score.
-
Any putt that is struck and fails to make it into the hole or open area in the back of the game will add 1 penalty to the total score for each time it doesn’t make it into the scoring area.
-
Though rare, any ball that gets stuck or comes to rest outside of a scoring hole should be replayed without penalty.
-
Lowest score wins!

GAME 2: MATCH PLAY
-
The object of the game is to get all of your team's golf balls into the five scoring circles on either side of the game.
-
Two teams with different colored golf balls alternate shots until one team has five balls on one side of the scoring area.
-
Any stroke counts as that player's turn, even if it fails to go into the hole or open area at the back of the game.
-
If a player hits the ball in the hole, the team gets the additional reward of strategically removing a golf ball from the other team AFTER the shot has settled, and BEFORE the next player takes their turn.
-
For littler golfers, we recommend not counting shots that don’t make it into the game until they are comfortable hitting up the ramp.
